Common Sleep Problems
At any age, the most common complaint on sleep is insomnia. The insomniose characterized by:

Difficulty sleeping (more than 30 to 45 minutes)

Waking many times at night

Waking up early and can not fall back to sleep Waking up tired

With rare exceptions, insomnia is a symptom of a problem, not the problem itself.
Insomnia can be linked with other sleep disorders such as apnea, a common problem in which there is a cessation of breathing for periods of up to 2 minutes several times a night. There are two types of apnea: Obstructive Apnea
, which is involuntary pauses in breathing - air can not enter or exit through the mouth or nose of the person;
central apnea, which is less common and occurs when the brain sends signals indicated to stimulate the respiratory muscles .
In both cases, the person is completely unaware of their difficulty breathing. Sleepiness during the day, in addition to loud snoring during the night, there are indications of possible apnea. A doctor specializing in sleep disorders can diagnose and recommend treatment.
Treatments include learning to sleep in the correct position, devices that help keep the airway open, drugs or surgery.
